The Cool Breeze

I don’t do a lot of work with people from other countries, no real reason as to why. I just, unfortunately, don’t get the opportunity to.  However, I did get the rare opportunity to work with someone from Iran (of all places) with Use Tasks.  I was moved to get a “P.S.” in an email from a person who I am working with.

PS. I hope one day, Iran will gain back its freedom and there would be a great relationship between Iranian people and Americans. I do respect you as one of the most respectful nations. All our efforts in “[REDACTED]” is to give Iranians a chance to publish their ideas easily and freely. I would never forget your help. — [REDACTED]

I frequently wonder about other countries think about us (me as a citizen), for example, Iran is part of what the President calls the axis of evil, do all Iranians hate us…hate me for that matter, because I am American?  Do these people want to kill me becuase of what I believe?  It really inspires fear in me, fear of other peoples.  It almost causes a deep despair.  Then I get a message like this…and well, I’m touched.  There is hope, for their country, and our country, as well…most counties/organizations have a few loud mouth, ultra [conservatives/fascists/liberals/psychos] that ruin it for the rest of us, and we should do our best to ignore them and don’t group all peoples in with them.

To the person who wrote this message to Alex and I (you know who you are).  It is my hope that you do gain your freedom, and you obtain all that you want, and a million times more.  You are a patriot, and you are the future of your country and that, above all else, gives me great hope for our future, and that of the world.
